Too Young to Struggle: The Long Road to Healing

“As a mom trying to relive it… it’s dramatic and it’s an ongoing thing…”

“As a mom, you want to blame yourself…”

A Note from Kassy to Lynnie and Crystal

Lynnie and Crystal — thank you thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of this series. Sitting down with both of you reminded me just how powerful, brave, and deeply human these conversations can be.

Lynnie, your courage in sharing your journey at just 17 is something that will stay with me—and with everyone who listens. Your voice matters so much, and I’m incredibly proud of you for stepping into this space with honesty and strength.

Crystal, as a mom and advocate, your insight and openness brought such depth and warmth to this episode. The love you have for your daughter is palpable, and hearing your perspective was truly moving. Your bravery as a mother—the strength it takes to hold on through the unknown, to keep fighting beside your child even when you feel helpless—did not go unnoticed. You are a reminder of the quiet warriors behind the scenes, carrying so much weight with grace.

Please don’t forget to care for yourself, too. Your healing matters just as much. You deserve rest, support, and gentleness as much as anyone in this story.I’ve missed you both more than you know. Being able to reconnect through this conversation meant everything to me. Thank you for trusting me with your story, for showing up so fully, and for helping others feel less alone through your words.

With so much love and gratitude,
Kassy
